Torch Fired Enamel
Date: May 18, 2019
Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Students will explore the process of torch fired enameling--the art of fusing glass onto metal to create colorful and imaginative designs. This is a beginner level class in which students will learn the art of copper enameling and experience the spontaneous nature of the medium. Students will gain the basic understanding of what enamels are, the firing process, and also complete a few copper examples, using simple yet sophisticated surface design techniques. If you have small copper pieces that you’d like to enamel, please bring them to class.
Materials Fee: $90 Covers the cost of a beginning enamel kit, which includes 11 opaque enamel colors, copper blanks, trivet, sifters, brush, dust mask and screen. This is yours to keep. If you have your own enamel kit or part of one, contact the instructor Donna Madej at thunderspirit@mdonline.net
