Keum Boo Earrings or Pendant with Donna Madej Date: Saturday, November 23, 2019 Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Students will complete 1 to 2 pairs of earrings or 1 pendant using Keum Boo fusing techniques. Keum-boo (also Kum-Boo or Kum-bu — Korean "attached gold") is an ancient Korean gilding technique used to apply thin sheets of gold to silver, to make silver-gilt. The heat causes the molecules to bond, no solder is used. Students will learn to apply gold foil to smooth or textured surfaces. Any experience level welcome. Materials Fee: $75 that will include 23.5Kt gold foil, 2 agate burnishers, tweezers, fine silver sheet 22gauge 2” x 3”and sterling ear wires. This may be paid directly to the instructor at the start of class.
